Happy Birthday to my sweet baby Kai! My little guy turned 2 years old! Time is flying by and each day this sweet baby gets cuter and cuter. Kai is such a sweet boy, he is sensitive to to people's emotions and he is very loving and kind, and for a two year old I think he is a pretty good sharer. He loves little babies, trains, animals, and his cousins.
Kai's birthday was on a Sunday this year so the lucky boy got two days to celebrate. We had his birhtday party on Saturday and wanted him to get his gift before the party so decided to just celebrate his birthday on Saturday, but we also couldn't ignore that Sunday was his actual birthday so we did a little celebrating that day as well.
For his birthday we got him a train table, he loved playing with the train tables at the toy stores and would be so upset when we would have to leave. When Kai saw his table in the morning his face lit right up and he yelled "train!" as he went running down the hallway. He examined it for a few seconds then did a cute little victory dance and then jumped right in and began to play. His reaction was priceless!
After Kai spent some time playing with his train we sat down and had donuts for breakfast. As soon as Ben sat the donuts on the counter Kai climbed on up and began eating them before we could get the candles out and ready. He would pick a donut up and take a bite, set it down and try the next one. He was in heaven!
Later that day Kai had a train birthday party with family. We ate lunch, then painted wooden trains, and then attempted some freeze dance but Kai was the only participant. Kai rocked his little heart out while all the other children were either too embarrassed or too shy to join in. We ended it all with cupcakes, ice cream and presents. Thank you everyone for all the great gifts, Kai has loved everything he received.
Kai's finished product. I thought it turned out pretty neat looking. |
After Kai's party he and his Dad spent some time making fun ramps with his train tracks, then we headed outside for a walk and a visit to our backyard duck.
The next day was Kai's actual birthday. He was given a Spiderman backpack from his cousin Reese, so he loaded it up with a few of his new toys to take to church with him. He felt so cool wearing his little backpack (sorry for the blurry picture...dumb camera).
After church we headed over to Grandma Becky's house for some dinner and Kai blew out some more candles. He loved being sung to and of course loved blowing out the candles. We had to repeat several times and he couldn't just blow out the candles he requested for us to sing as well. Happy Birthday Kai, your mom and dad love you more than you could ever know!
